Welcome to Saplings, our Nursery provision for children aged 3 and over at Woodloes Primary School.
Saplings provides a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, play, explore and grow in confidence. Our Early Years team supports every child as an individual, helping them develop independence, friendships, communication skills and a love of learning.
Learning at Saplings
Our provision follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with learning taking place through purposeful play, exploration, adult-led activities and child-led experiences.
Children benefit from a wide range of indoor and outdoor learning opportunities designed to support all seven areas of learning and development. Being part of Woodloes Primary School also enables children to become familiar with school life, supporting a positive and confident transition into Reception.

Funded Childcare
Eligible families can use their government-funded childcare entitlement towards sessions at Saplings. The number of funded hours available will depend on individual circumstances and current government eligibility requirements.
Funded hours can be used towards eligible booked sessions. Where attendance exceeds a child's funded entitlement, additional sessions are charged at the standard rate of £16.80 for a morning or afternoon session.
Parents and carers are responsible for providing any required eligibility information or codes and ensuring their eligibility is reconfirmed within the relevant government deadlines.
Joining Saplings
Children can join Saplings from age three, subject to availability and the applicable admission and funding arrangements.
Starting Nursery is an important milestone, and our team works closely with families to ensure children feel safe, happy and confident as they settle into Saplings and become part of the wider Woodloes community.
