Choosing your child’s first school is a really important decision, and we want families to feel confident, welcomed and excited about becoming part of Woodloes.
At Woodloes, we want every child to feel happy, safe and valued from the moment they walk through the door. We believe children learn best when they feel that they belong, when they are encouraged to be curious, and when school is somewhere they genuinely enjoy being.
For families considering Woodloes for September 2027, we would love to welcome you into school, show you around and give you a real feel for life here.
The Woodloes Way
Every school teaches reading, writing and maths. What makes Woodloes special is everything we build around that learning.
The Woodloes Way is about creating a school where children feel known, supported and excited to learn. We recognise that children do not all learn, communicate or regulate in the same way, so our environment is designed to give pupils different ways to succeed.
Our Sensory Street is one example of this. It provides children with a purposeful space to regulate, move, reset and prepare themselves for learning. Rather than expecting every child to fit into one way of doing things, we adapt our environment to meet children where they are.
Across Woodloes, this approach continues through:
Sensory and regulation support, including our dedicated Sensory Street.
Inclusive practice, supporting children with a wide range of needs within our school community.
A strong focus on wellbeing, helping children understand their emotions, build confidence and develop resilience.
Learning beyond the desk, with opportunities to explore, create, move and learn in different ways.
A real sense of belonging, where children are known as individuals rather than simply as a name on a register.
Wraparound care through OSCAR, giving children a familiar, supportive environment before and after the school day.
A whole-school community, where relationships between pupils, staff and families matter.
We want children to achieve academically, but we also want them to become independent, curious, kind and confident young people.
For us, success is not about making every child the same.
It is about helping every child find the support, opportunities and encouragement they need to thrive.
