School council
Our school council team is led by Miss List, and they meet weekly to share ideas, research projects and fundraisers and make decisions on behalf of their class members. There are two representatives for each class from years 1 to 6. The school council discuss various issues and ideas throughout the year and the reps. bring ideas from their class members to each meeting. They are always thinking of creative ways that we can further improve our school and the community.

Our next fundraiser:
This year, school council are kicking off their projects by organising a cake sale to raise awareness and money for Macmillan Cancer Support. On Friday 28th September, our new elected school council team will be holding a cake sale for all members of our school community. It would be fantastic if you, and any family members, could join your children at their allotted time for cake and beverages in the small hall. Please enter through the green gate at the right of the main reception entrance to reach the back of the small hall.
9:30 – 10 Saplings
10 - 10.30 Reception
1:45 – 11:15 Year 1

All children will have the opportunity to buy cakes in the small hall during the allocated time slots for approximately 50p. Any cake donations for the sale would be much appreciated to make this day a success.

Please send the cakes into class with your child or drop them off at the main office (on the Friday morning or the day before). Thanks!
School council achievements 2016 - 18
Previous school councillors worked incredibly hard as a team to make some brilliant positive changes around school and organised many great events.
We started our year with a trip to Westminster to learn more about the democracy of our society. This has helped with our teamwork when having to reach final decisions that represent the views of the whole school community.
Thanks to the school council we have been involved in discussions about how to improve our school, initiated new play time rules and routines agreed by the children and introduced a new 'marvellous manners' reward around school.
One of our favourite projects was organising and leading the 'Woodloes got talent' competition where we watched and rated incredible talent from every year group. We also invited the professional sports team 'Wasps' to visit our school where KS1 and KS2 enjoyed a day with members of their netball team. In the summer term, we had fun organising key aspects of the summer fair linked to our 'Urban Arts Week' and setting up for the event on the day.
We also put much effort into raising money for some chosen charities:
2017 - 18
Autumn A: £700 raised at our Macmillan coffee morning
Autumn B: £402 raised for Children in Need
Spring: £547 raised split between Birmingham Children's Hospital and Sport Relief
Summer: £390 raised for Cystic Fibrosis Trust
2016 - 17
Autumn A: £314.83 raised at our Macmillan coffee morning
Autumn B: £722 raised for Children in Need
Spring A: £200.03 for the Warwickshire air ambulance
Spring B: £920 for comic relief
Summer: £260 with a 'shades day' for Guide Dogs
