Residential to Plas Pencelli
Friday 6/12/12, Day 4
We have had a fabulous last day. After packing, stripping their beds and clearing their rooms, the children were ready for their final breakfast. We all set off for gorge scrambling today. It started with climbing a fence and wading through some deep water. After, we all held onto each other whilst walking single file through an old railway tunnel and experienced pitch black! Then it was time to start gorge scrambling. The children thoroughly enjoyed this and we got wet!
We ended the week having lunch and saying goodbye and thank you to the wonderful staff who looked after us so well this week.
Now, we are on our way back to Warwick and ready to go home.
Thu 5/12/24, day 3
Another wonderful day here! Those who went caving yesterday went climbing today; bouldering and climbing with ropes and having so much fun that a little rain didn't matter in the least. The others went to a different cave, much higher in the mountains than the one we visited yesterday, where they squeezed through 'the key hole' and climbed the waterfall and walked back across the boggy moor.
After a roast dinner, we had team work and problem solving games in the evening, ending with an exciting 'egg drop'.
Everyone is asleep and excited about the gorge scrambling in the morning before we return home.
See you tomorrow!

Wed 4/12/24 Day 2
A really brilliant day! Two groups did bouldering in the morning and climbing in the afternoon (we were helping each other with kit, climbing challenges and even belaying) whilst the third group went caving and learnt about how caves are formed before exploring one of the largest in the UK (we had challenges like the letterbox squeeze, scrambles and wades on the way).
After dinner we worked as big teams to get round the rope walk challenge in the Dingle Dell at Plas Pencelli; it was slippery and wet but we all helped each other and had great fun communicating in the dark.
Everyone is safely in bed and has got busy with the important job of sleeping now!

3.12.24 Day 1
We have all arrived safely (all departure tears had stopped by the time we got on the motorway at Longbridge Island). We've settled in well and had a wonderful afternoon canoeing on the Brecon and Monmouth Canal (where some of us climbed in just for fun) followed by pizza for dinner, orienteering and a birthday cake.
The children are asleep so the staff have got time to review and post the photos we took: We think we've got photos of all of them, but some groups had better photographers than others!
Looking forward to a cooked breakfast and then caving and climbing tomorrow!
